In April 2024, Russian car factories produced 63,000 passenger cars, which is 2.3 times more than the previous year. This data was announced on May 29. In the first four months of this year, a total of 224,000 passenger cars were produced in Russia, an increase of 92.5% compared to the same period last year.
The production of commercial vehicles also saw growth, with 60,300 units produced from January to April, a 26.6% increase compared to the previous year. In April alone, 16,900 trucks were produced, a 19.7% increase from the previous year.
The Lada Largus production has resumed at the AvtoVAZ plant in Izhevsk. The production includes cargo-passenger vans and wagons. The plan is to produce up to 50,000 Largus vehicles, including the electric model e-Largus, by the end of the year. Production of seven-seater wagons in Comfort and Cross versions is planned to start in the fall, with a gas-powered model expected to be produced next year.
